If you receive this message when activating your Xfinity WiFi Extenders, you need to update one or more of your network settings. The following network settings are required to activate your Xfinity WiFi Extenders:
- A password protected WiFi security mode.
- One network name/password for your 2.4 and 5 networks.
- An enabled and broadcasting WiFi network.

Follow the on-screen instructions in the xFi mobile app to update your settings so that your Xfinity WiFi Extenders can be activated.
For customers with different names and passwords for each of the WiFi bands: After your Xfinity WiFi Extenders have been activated, you will only see one network name that is now broadcasting both your 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. The name of the network will correspond to the name you had for the 2.4 GHz network. You can change the network name and password in the Xfinity app by selecting the WiFi tab, then your network, and Edit WiFi Settings.
Note: You may need to reconnect your devices to your WiFi network if you were prompted to make any changes to your WiFi name or password.
