This document provides instructions on what to do if you receive the "Can't Find Pod" or "My First Pod Can't Be Found" error message when activating your Xfinity WiFi Extenders from the Xfinity app.
If you receive this error message during the Xfinity WiFi Extender activation process:
- Make sure that you are not setting your phone down when activating your Xfinity WiFi Extender. You should hold your phone six to eight inches away from your first Xfinity WiFi Extender while connecting.
- Check that your first Xfinity WiFi Extender is placed with at least one room separating it from your Xfinity Gateway (within approximately 20 to 30 feet).
- Make sure your Xfinity WiFi Extender is visible and not blocked by furniture or other large objects.
- Try unplugging the Xfinity WiFi Extender and plugging it back in. Check for a small light on the front of the Xfinity WiFi Extender.
- If no light turns on when the Xfinity WiFi Extender is first plugged in, please contact us to troubleshoot.
- Check that your Xfinity WiFi Extender is not plugged in to power outlets that are connected to light switches.
- Do not connect your Xfinity WiFi Extender directly to your Xfinity Gateway using the Ethernet port on the bottom of the Xfinity WiFi Extender. The Xfinity WiFi Extenders connect wirelessly to the Xfinity Gateway. You will not be able to activate your Xfinity WiFi Extenders if one is connected directly to the gateway.
- Try activating another Xfinity WiFi Extender from the pack.
- Try disabling Bluetooth on your phone and activating your Xfinity WiFi Extender using manual entry of the serial number (located on the back of the WiFi Extender).
- Note: The link to enter the serial number manually is available on the Bluetooth Required/Recommended screen that displays when you decline the app's request to enable Bluetooth.
