If you receive the WiFi Extender Not Coming Online error message and you don't intend to use all the WiFi Extenders in your multi-pack, simply select Not Using All WiFi Extenders to proceed to the next step in the activation process.
If you continue through activation and receive the My WiFi Extenders Won’t Come Online error message after plugging in all of the WiFi Extenders from the set, then:
- Check that your WiFi Extenders are not plugged in to power outlets that are connected to light switches.
- Check that your WiFi Extender is placed in an electric outlet halfway between your Gateway and an area without coverage.
- Then, if you have more WiFi Extenders to activate, make sure your remaining WiFi Extenders are evenly spaced from each other and the Gateway to ensure even coverage.
- Make sure that your WiFi Extenders are visible and not blocked by furniture or other large objects.
- Try unplugging the WiFi Extender and plugging it back in. It may take a minute for the WiFi Extender to connect. Check for a small light on the front of the WiFi Extender when first plugged in.
- If no light turns on when the WiFi Extender is first plugged in, please contact us to troubleshoot.
- Don’t connect your WiFi Extenders directly to your xFi Gateway using the Ethernet port on the bottom of the WiFi Extender. The WiFi Extenders connect wirelessly to the xFi Gateway. You won’t be able to activate your WiFi Extenders if one is connected directly to the Gateway.
