Xfinity Celebrates Lunar New Year: The Year of the Snake

January’s new moon will occur on Wednesday, January 29th, signaling the beginning of The 2025 Lunar New Year —The Year of the Snake. Also called the Spring Festival, the Lunar New Year celebration begins with the first new moon of the lunar calendar and lasts until the rising of the next full moon, on February 12th, when it culminates with The Lantern Festival. This 15-day celebration is one of the most significant annual cultural events observed by hundreds of millions of people worldwide.  

Xfinity Wants to Help You Celebrate Lunar New Year 

Xfinity makes it easy to discover TV shows, movies, and music that celebrate Asian and Asian American culture and traditions for all ages on Xfinity. 

  • From January 27th through February 2nd, simply say “Lunar New Year” or “Asian American” into the X1 Voice Remote to navigate the experience and browse content.

Discover Asian American Collections and New Features for Lunar New Year 

For the fifth year in a row, Xfinity is teaming up with Gold House, a non-profit collective of Asian and Pacific Islander cultural leaders, to bring content recommendations from notable voices in the community to customers. The destination will also feature a curated collection of programming from Common Sense Media, an American nonprofit organization that reviews and provides ratings for media and technology with the goal of providing information on their suitability for children.

    • Interior Chinatown — on Hulu
