Why did my neighbor receive notification prior to me?
As we build out our network in your area, homes may have different timing to switch over to Xfinity. You will receive a letter 30 days in advance of your transfer from CityNet to Xfinity.
How can I find out when my neighborhood is switching to Xfinity?
All CityNet customers will receive a letter 30 days in advance of their switchover. You can also reach out to us at 855-206-1261, if you haven’t received your letter and would like to have a general idea of when your location will have access to Xfinity services.
Xfinity: Comcast has different internet speed plans available.
- Over the coming months, you will receive more details about the transition to Comcast and the service options available to you.
- We also plan to upgrade the infrastructure to provide faster and more reliable internet speeds for San Bruno customers.
Comcast Business: Comcast Business offers high-performance broadband service with speed tiers that meet or exceed the speeds currently provided by CityNet. A Comcast Business account executive will be happy to discuss your service options.
Xfinity: You may need to exchange your current CityNet equipment for Comcast equipment to take full advantage of Comcast services and product features.
- We will provide detailed instructions and support for any equipment changes at a later time.
Comcast Business: Most of Comcast’s business products (data, voice and video) require a Comcast device.

What you need to know about your Xfinity equipment:
Your current equipment from CityNet is not compatible with your new Xfinity services. Don’t worry – we have easy ways to learn about new equipment. You can explore our Xfinity Gateway option which is designed to be the most reliable modem on our network at xfinity.com/learn/internet-service/modems-and-routers.
Your Xfinity technician will bring your new equipment when they install your services and can recycle your old CityNet equipment.
If you own your own device, see if your device is compatible at xfinity.com/support/devices.
If you are not using compatible Xfinity or customer-owned equipment your services could be interrupted, including access to 911.
What do I do with my CityNet equipment?
You are able to drop off equipment at our Daly City Xfinity store located at 153 A Serramonte Center, Daly City, CA 94015, or at 398 El Camino Real, San Bruno CA 94066. If you have a technician installing your services, they can take your old equipment.
Xfinity: As of today, your current CityNet bill will not change.

Comcast Business: Comcast is working to offer a wide selection of solutions for your business based on speed, price and value.
Xfinity: During the transition, we will do our best to minimize disruptions to service.

Comcast Business: Comcast Business understands the importance to our business customers of minimizing service disruptions and, once you have ordered your new Comcast Business services, we will coordinate with your contacts to efficiently install and activate your new services.
Xfinity: We will work to ensure a seamless transition of your TV services from CityNet to Comcast.
- However, recorded content on your current DVR will not transfer over.

Xfinity: Comcast will have technical support available for any Comcast equipment.
Comcast Business: Comcast’s professional installation includes all setup of Comcast equipment and services at your location.
As your Xfinity technician works to connect your service, they will educate you about your new Xfinity service. We’re here to help so ask your Xfinity technician any questions about your service.
During installation, you can expect service outages. This downtime will affect all your services and if you are a current CityNet Digital Phone customer, you will not be able to make or receive emergency 911 calls during this time. Please know that our technician will work as efficiently as possible to limit the duration of this outage.
