Kids and Teens Privacy Notice
Last Updated: October 2, 2026
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose personal information when you interact with Xfinity. This notice supplements our Privacy Policy and explains our practices regarding information collected from individuals who may be under 18.
We offer a range of services, many of which are intended for adults. Some of our Services are designed for users of all ages and their families and are often accessible through an adult’s account.
Generally, our paid subscription-based Services require the subscriber to be at least 18 years old. Account holders for those Services determine who may access the Services through their account and, depending on the Services, what parental controls to implement and whether to create enable “Kids” or “Teen” profiles which. Modes have predefined content and experience settings and are not named or tied to a particular individual.
In this notice, we use:
- “Kids” to mean individuals under 13.
- “Teens” to mean individuals ages 13–17.
- “Minors” to mean all individuals under 18.
When a practice applies only to kids or only to teens, we say so. Otherwise, references to minors include both kids and teens.
We may determine that a user is likely a minor based on the following:
- Use of a “Kids” or “Teen”
- Interaction with or selection of content within a kids-designated area of our Services;
- Interaction with child-directed content, without other assurances the user is not a kid.
- Age category signal provided by a third-party platform or service.
If we believe a user is a minor based on these factors, we apply the following additional privacy protections:
- We do not serve targeted ads on Kids or Teen profiles or child-directed content.
- We limit the personal information we collect to what is necessary to provide and support the operations of the Services and as otherwise permitted by law. This information includes persistent identifiers of the device (such as IP address and device ID) and information about content and features the user interacts with. We use this personal information only as permitted by applicable law, including to:
- (a) provide, improve, and analyze the Services;
- (b) personalize content when permissible;
- (c) serve contextual advertising (which is not selected based on personal information);
- (d) secure the Services;
- (e) comply with applicable law
- If we offer voice features in “Kids” or “Teen” profiles or on child-directed content, we implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to limit use of audio file information to create a transcript and fulfill the user's request, and we delete the voice data afterward.
- We use technical and organizational safeguards to prevent such information from being used for other purposes. For example, we do not serve targeted ads on child-directed services or in “Kids” or “Teen” profiles, and we do not use such information to contact kids directly.
- We limit disclosure of minors’ personal information to:
- (a) service providers that perform a support function for us
- (b) non-Comcast applications, and partners when necessary to provide the Services
- (c) third parties when disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect Comcast or others
- (d) Others with appropriate consent.
- We do not sell minors’ personal information or disclose it to third parties for their own marketing purposes. If a user interacts with a third party through the Services, such as to launch content of an app partner, certain information may be shared with that third party as necessary to enable the interaction.
- We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. Retention periods vary depending on:
- the type of personal information;
- the Services involved;
- the purposes for which the information is collected;
- whether the information is needed to provide or support the Services; and
- whether longer retention is required or permitted by law
This notice does not apply to third-party services, applications, or websites that may be accessed through our Services. We encourage parents and guardians to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party services before allowing minors to use them.
To request access to or deletion or correction of information associated with a minor, please visit our Privacy Center.
If you are a parent or guardian and do not want us to collect information from your minor, please stop allowing them to use the Services.
For questions, please contact us.
Kids and Teens Privacy Guide
Welcome!
We're Comcast, a big company that creates ways for people to watch the movies and shows they like and ways for them to stay connected. You might recognize some of our brands, like Xfinity. Because long information pages can be hard to understand, we made this guide to explain how we look after your information and help keep you safe while you use our products and Services.
Most of our Services are meant for adults, but some, like our streaming content, can be enjoyed by you if a grown-up lets you use their account.
Before you use any of our Services, check with a grown-up you trust to make sure it's okay. If you have questions, you or your parent or guardian can contact us.
This guide tells you how we use information about you, so you know what happens when we collect it.
Personal Information We Collect
Our Services need some information to work properly. The information we collect depends on how you use our Services.
Sometimes we can tell that someone using our Services is probably a kid (under 13) or a teen (13-17)—for example, when they use a “Kids” or “Teen” profile or watch content made for kids. But if you’re just visiting a website or using our Services because your parent or guardian signed up, we might not know who you are or how old you may be.
When we think someone is a kid or teen, we collect a certain small amount of information to make sure everything works properly and to provide the Services. That information may include what you click on or watch, and the location of your device. We collect some of this information using “cookies,” not the kind you eat, but tiny digital notes that help our Services remember things.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide our Services—like playing movies and TV shows you request, making our websites work, and remembering your preferences (when we’re allowed to).
- Recommend other movies or TV shows we think you might like (when we are allowed to).
- Answer questions if you or your grown-up need help.
- Make the Services better, more fun, and easier to use.
- Show you ads—but the ads aren’t picked based on what we know about you.
- Keep everyone safe.
- Follow the rules that apply to us—just like you do at school!
We might share your personal information with:
- Other companies that help us provide our Services. These companies can only use your information in the way we tell them.
- Other companies if you access their app, movies or TV shows, or other content on our Services.
- Your grown-up if they want to see how you are using the Services.
- Police or others to keep everyone safe or make sure they follow the rules.
- A new owner if we sell our business.
- Anyone else you or your grown-up says is ok.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information for as long as we need to provide our Services or to follow the law.
How We Keep Your Information Safe
We use strong security measures designed to keep your personal information safe.
Choices You Can Make
Depending on how old you are, you or your grown-up might be able to make choices about your information, like:
- What we know about you
- How we use your information
- To stop using your information
- To change or delete your information
If a grown-up has let you use a profile "Kids” or “Teen” profile on our Services through the grown-up's account, they can ask to see or delete the information connected to their account by visiting our Privacy Center. We might ask your grown-up a few questions to make sure it's really them.
Changes
Sometimes we need to make changes to this guide. When we do, we'll put the changes on this page and will let you know when the changes start. If we make a really big change, we'll make sure to let you know.
Contact Us
For questions about this guide, you (or your grown-up) can contact us.
Xfinity also offers you or your parent or legal guardian the ability to report a concern with our Services. To report a concern, please complete and submit the Xfinity Kids and Teens Help Form. We will review your request and get back to you with next steps or a request for more information.

Other Protections for Kids and Teens
While many of our Services are intended for adults, some are designed for users of all ages.
