X1 Cloud DVR functions just like a regular DVR, but includes new features like the ability to stream recordings to mobile devices and computers with the XFINITY Stream app or from the XFINITY Stream portal (www.xfinity.com/stream). In addition, completed recordings can be downloaded to mobile devices for "offline" viewing.

What is X1 Cloud DVR?
The X1 Cloud DVR allows you to stream your DVR recordings to mobile devices and computers while connected to any WiFi or mobile network. You can also download completed recordings to a mobile device to watch offline when WiFi or mobile networks are not available. Mobile devices and computers also support DVR scheduling and management functionality similar to the in-home TV box experience.

You can also use the XFINITY Stream portal and XFINITY Stream app to watch thousands of XFINITY On Demand selections and stream any channel in your subscription when you're home. Plus access tons of TV shows and movies when you're on the go.

Notes:
  • Only the most recent 60 hours of recordings are available for X1 Cloud DVR functionality. The availability of content on your mobile devices and computers may be slightly less than that on your TV. If you exceed the 60-hour limit, the oldest recordings will drop off for any new recordings. These recordings may still be available for viewing on your TV.
  • If you can log in to the XFINITY Stream app or XFINITY Stream portal but the Recordings, Downloads or Scheduled tabs are grayed out, please contact us to have X1 added to your account.
Who is eligible for the new X1 Cloud DVR?
All X1 customers with DVR service in launched areas are eligible.

Will the new X1 Cloud DVR be available to existing X1 customers with DVR service?
Yes, in markets where the new service is launched, existing X1 customers with DVR service are able to upgrade to X1 Cloud DVR, but you need to request the new functionality. If you don't currently subscribe to AnyRoom DVR service, additional charges will apply.

How can I access content using X1 Cloud DVR?
You can access DVR recordings on mobile devices with the XFINITY Stream app, or on a computer by going to the XFINITY Stream portal.

What devices are supported?
The XFINITY Stream portal is currently available for viewing on PCs and Macs. The XFINITY Stream app is currently available for iOS devices running 9.0 or higher and Android devices running 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or higher. Kindle Fire devices are supported. Windows phones and tablets are currently not supported. Why aren't all customers able to access X1 Cloud DVR recordings on the XFINITY Stream app?
The X1 Cloud DVR may not be available in all areas; you will be notified when X1 Cloud DVR becomes available. The XFINITY Stream app is available to all customers with XFINITY TV service, including those with the XFINITY Stream package. Some features may vary depending on your services. Only X1 customers with Cloud DVR can access recordings.

Existing customers with X1 DVR service upgrading to the new X1 Cloud DVR:

Will I lose the recordings currently saved on my X1 DVR?
Existing recordings will remain available on your TV box, but will not be available for playback or download on mobile devices or computers.

Will I lose scheduled recordings?
Following the upgrade, the system will automatically begin recording scheduled shows for X1 Cloud availability.

Does the functionality enabled by X1 Cloud DVR count against the XFINITY Internet data usage threshold?
Downloading and/or streaming DVR recordings, live TV or XFINITY On Demand content will not count against your Internet data usage threshold if you are connected to your in-home XFINITY network. However, if you choose to stream or download DVR recordings outside of the home, this may count against your data usage threshold.

Existing customers with X1 Cloud DVR:

Can I take my cloud recordings with me if I move or transfer service?
If the rest of your X1 services are able to be transferred to your new address, your cloud recordings will be transferred as well.

In the event of a DVR box swap, will I still have access to my recordings?
Recordings made after June 7, 2016, will be accessible from your new TV box as well as from mobile devices and computers. Only mobile devices or computers will have access to recordings made before June 7, 2016.
