5 Shows Like 'Only Murders in the Building' You Can Start Binging Now

Entertainment

Okay fellow "Arconiacs,” now that season two of Only Murders in the Building is done—we're all STILL talking about that painting, Becky Butler, Glitter Guy and who killed Bunny Folger.

But the most important reveal of all?

Season three of Only Murders in the Building is confirmed!

Which begs the question—until those new episodes arrive on Hulu—what other TV shows can possibly scratch that itch for quirky murder mysteries with impeccable comedic timing and crazy good chemistry a la that of Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short)?

Now there’s no show that will have everything we all love about Only Murders in the Building—from the intergenerational dynamics to the shocking twists, hilarious one-liners and of course, the heartfelt stories. But while we await season three, there are quite a few shows out there that come close.

Here are five shows to binge watch after finishing Only Murders in the Building:

1. The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window

Starring: Kristen Bell

Where to Watch: Netflix

What to Know: In this 8-episode series that’s a parody of mystery and psychological thrillers, Anna (Bell) plays a woman mourning the death of her daughter—and end of her marriage—by watching the world go by from her living room window. From her perch, she becomes intrigued by her handsome new neighbor—and unexpectedly witnesses a murder.

2. Barry

Starring: Bill Hader, Henry Winkler

Where to Watch: HBO

What to Know: This Emmy winning black comedy has been on for three seasons, so you have plenty of episodes to keep you occupied. Barry (Hader) is a hitman who finds himself taking an acting class by the esteemed Gene Cousineau (Winkler) and finds himself questioning his path in life—is he perhaps destined for the stage over killings?

3. Murderville

Starring: Will Arnett

Where to Watch: Netflix

What to Know: This is not your traditional murder mystery show as every single episode is completely improvised! Following the cases of offbeat detective Terry Seattle (Arnett), a different guest star plays the role of his rookie detective in each episode. The twist? Said guest stars (including the likes of Conan O’Brien and Sharon Stone!) are not given a script and must improvise their way through the episode to solve the case!

4. Search Party

Starring: Alia Shawkat

Where to Watch: HBO Max

What to Know: What happens when a bored twenty-something discovers a college friend has, gasp, gone missing? Well, she takes it upon herself to form a “search party” to find her missing pal. What ensues is a quest filled with twists, turns and hijinks!

5. Bored to Death

Starring: Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis

Where to Watch: HBO

What to Know: Bored to Death ran for three seasons from 2009-2011 but it’s definitely worth a rewatch or a try if you missed it the first time around. It follows novelist Jonathan Ames (Schwartzman) who while struggling to write his second book, decides to moonlight as an unlicensed private detective.
