It’s easy to get a refund from Xfinity.
If you are a current customer and overpaid more than a full month of your Xfinity services:
- If you paid with a credit card, a refund can be made to the same card used for payment.
- It usually takes three to five days for the refund to process back to the card.
- If you paid with cash, check, money order, check by phone, or electronic funds transfer (EFT), a refund can be made after 15 calendar days (or sooner) if documents are provided to show the payment will clear the bank account.
- Xfinity will send an email asking you to upload certain documents.
- If you don’t provide documents, you must wait 15 calendar days before the refund can be issued to either the last payment method or via a prepaid card.
Canceled installations and return of deposits
If you canceled an installation and already paid a deposit, you’ll also get your deposit back. Xfinity will send the refund to your last payment method (if one is on file) in about seven to 10 days. If you don’t have a last payment method on file, refer to the No payment method on file section below.
Closed accounts
If you closed your account and returned the equipment, you don’t need to do anything. Xfinity will send your refund to your last payment method (if one is on file). This usually takes about four to six weeks.
If you don’t have a last payment method on file, refer to the No payment method on file section below.
No payment method on file
If you don’t have or can’t receive an automatic refund to your last payment method:
- If your refund is over $500, it will take longer to process. You’ll receive a check in the mail to the service or bill to address in five to eight weeks.
- If your refund is $500 or less, you’ll get an email from xfinityrefunds.com sent to your verified email address on file explaining how to claim your refund.
- See Claim a refund online below to know what to expect.
- No email? No problem! If there is no email on file or you don’t click the email within 15 days, don’t worry. You will receive a prepaid card in the mail at the service or bill-to address. You should get it in about seven to 15 business days.

FAQs
What are the terms on the prepaid refund cards?
The refund cards (both virtual and mailed) can’t be refilled with more money. They expire in six months. After that, a $3.50 maintenance fee is taken from the card every month until the money runs out.
If you haven’t used the card or your current card has expired and it still has funds, you can ask for a replacement anytime within five years after it expires. If there were any maintenance fees taken after the card expired, those can be added back before you get the new card.
How will the refund show up on my final bill?
You will see the refund as a negative amount on your bill. The refund is explained in the Your bill explained section.
