July 02, 2026

In its latest report, USA, Converged Experience, April 2026, Opensignal set out to measure the overall experience of customers who get their home internet and mobile service from a single provider. Xfinity came out on top in two of the three categories measured—Consistent Quality and Download Speed Experience. Here, we’ll take a closer look at the report and what those results mean for users.

What does “converged experience” mean?

Opensignal defines “converged subscribers” as customers who get both their mobile service and home broadband from the same provider. For Xfinity, that means customers who pair Xfinity Internet with Xfinity Mobile.

The report assesses the experience of users on the whole, not their experiences with either home WiFi or cellular service individually. Opensignal captures actual usage across both connection types, since converged subscribers spend more than 65% of their time connected to Wi-Fi. The result is a holistic picture of how people actually experience connectivity throughout their day, whether at home or on the go.

For this report, Opensignal analyzed data collected between January 1 and March 31, 2026, across the five largest U.S. providers: AT&T, Spectrum, T-Mobile, Verizon, and Xfinity.

#1 in Consistent Quality: Your apps work when you need them

Consistent Quality is one of the most practical ways to evaluate a network. Instead of measuring raw data speeds alone, Consistent Quality asks, Does your connection hold up for the things you actually do?

To answer that, Opensignal evaluates six performance indicators—download and upload speed, latency, jitter, packet loss, and time to first byte—and measures what percentage of tests meet the minimum thresholds required to support common tasks like streaming HD video, joining a group video call, and playing games online.

In the April 2026 report, Xfinity earned a Consistent Quality score of 83.9%, the highest of any provider in the study.

Consistent Quality Rankings – Combined Fixed + Mobile

Xfinity — 83.9%

Verizon — 83.4%

AT&T — 81.8%

T-Mobile — 81.4% (tied)

Spectrum — 81.4% (tied)

Xfinity’s lead may be less than a percentage point over second-place Verizon, but in a competitive field where all five providers scored within a roughly 2.5-point range, every fraction matters. This score reflects the combined experience across home Wi-Fi and mobile, meaning Xfinity customers are consistently well-connected whether at home or on their devices out in the world.

#1 in Download Speed Experience: Fast connections across both networks

Download Speed Experience measures the typical everyday speeds users experience across their combined mobile and Wi-Fi connections. Opensignal goes beyond qualitative user assessments to reach its conclusions. The real-world average is calculated based on actual usage observed by Opensignal in crowd-sourced measurement data.

Xfinity took the top spot in this category with a combined Download Speed Experience of 247.1 Mbps.

Download Speed Experience Rankings – Combined Fixed + Mobile (Mbps)

Xfinity — 247.1 Mbps

Spectrum — 240.1 Mbps

AT&T — 233.3 Mbps

T-Mobile — 203.1 Mbps

Verizon — 179.6 Mbps

Fast download speeds translate directly to enhancements in quality of everyday life. With faster download speeds, you get quicker load times on apps and websites, smoother 4K streaming, faster downloads of large files or software updates, and more responsive browsing on mobile devices. For households with multiple people and multiple connected devices, those speed advantages can add up quickly.

Why it matters

Opensignal’s April 2026 Converged Experience report offers a clear-eyed look at which providers deliver the best connectivity to customers with both home internet and mobile service. Evaluating the combined experience across home WiFi and mobile reveals which providers are strong on just one side, and which providers are pulling their weight equally on both.

It looks beyond isolated tests of home internet or mobile speeds to the daily, real-world experiences of users. The competitive landscape here is formidable. Verizon, AT&T, Spectrum, and T-Mobile are all well-established providers with extensive networks. Xfinity outperforms top competitors in two out of three categories—Consistent Quality and Download Speed Experience—painting a compelling picture of the connectivity experience delivered by Xfinity in the real world.
