YouTube TV on Xumo Stream Box or 4K Stream Box (formerly Xfinity Flex)
You’ll need:
- An Xi6 or XiOne streaming TV Box or 4K Stream Box.
- Your own compatible streaming device, using your Xfinity ID to sign in.
- Xfinity Internet service or Internet Essentials (Prepaid internet is not eligible).
Open YouTube TV
- Say “YouTube TV” into your Xfinity Voice Remote, or
- From the home screen, go to Apps > Menu > View All Apps > YouTube TV.
Subscribe to YouTube TV*
- Open the YouTube TV app (outlined above).
- Follow the on-screen steps to subscribe (or sign in).
- This takes you through YouTube TV’s sign-up process, and you’ll be billed through YouTube.
*Some customers can sign up and be billed for the YouTube TV Main Plan directly through Xfinity. If you qualify, you’ll see the option to sign up for YouTube TV in the Xfinity StreamStore.
Here are a few subscription details:
- It’s $82.99 per month.
- It’ll renew monthly, automatically.
- It’ll be canceled automatically if it’s not activated within 30 days of the purchase.
- Billing through Xfinity begins when the order is activated (not at the time of purchase).
Note: You may be eligible for a $10 off per month promotion; however, YouTube determines eligibility at the point of activation.

If you have a YouTube TV subscription:
- Go to the YouTube TV app > Sign in (or Log in).
- Enter your Google credentials (created or used during activation).
Change or cancel your YouTube TV subscription
If you’re billed through Xfinity, you can manage your subscription:
- In StreamStore at xfinity.com/yoursubscriptions.
- Through your Xumo Stream Box or 4K Stream Box with the Subscription Management app.
If you’re billed directly through YouTube TV or another third-party, you’ll need to log in to your YouTube TV account at https://tv.youtube.com.

How do I block access to YouTube TV on Xumo Stream Box or 4K Stream Box?
You can set parental controls by:
- Locking TV-MA content under Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks.
- Once locked, a parental control PIN is required before you can access the app.
- You can block access to the YouTube TV app using App Locks.

Why am I unable to sign in?
If you can’t log in with your username and password, go to https://tv.youtube.com to recover them.
Why can’t I access the YouTube TV app on my 4K Stream box?
The app isn’t compatible with Xi5 streaming TV Boxes. If you have this TV Box, you can swap it for a compatible TV Box right on your TV. Open the YouTube TV app and follow the prompts. (A YouTube TV subscription is needed to access its content.)
Why doesn’t the YouTube TV app launch on my 4K Stream Box?
To use this app, you’ll need:
- An Xi6 streaming TV Box with 4K Stream Box service.
- Any level of Xfinity Internet service.
- An HDMI compatible TV.
Where is the YouTube Kids app?
The YouTube Kids app isn’t supported anymore. It was removed from all Xfinity X1, Xumo Stream Box , and 4K Stream Box devices on June 27, 2025. However, you can find YouTube Kids content by using your child’s profile within the YouTube app.
