Does it cost anything to use Sling TV?Aside from Xfinity Internet service charges and Xfinity TV if you have Xfinity X1, accessing Sling TV through Flex or X1 requires a Sling subscription. (Some content in the Sling TV app on Flex doesn't require a subscription.)
Note: Streaming the app counts towards your monthly Internet data usage.
What packages and channels are available, and how much do they cost?

I don’t have a Sling TV subscription yet. How do I sign up?
- Access the Sling TV app on X1 or Flex by clicking the Sling TV app tile or saying “Sling TV” into your Voice Remote.
- Click Try Us Today button.
Enter the code that appears on your TV at sling.com/XTV from your phone or computer.
Enter your email address and a password for your Sling account.
Choose one of the Sling subscription plans.
Enter your credit card information, which is where your subscription will be billed.
You’ll get a confirmation email that you’re signed up!
You'll be billed directly by Sling.
I forgot my Sling username or password. How do I find my username or reset my password?
Please visit the Sling Help Center to recover your username or reset your password.

Can I rent movies in the Sling TV app on Flex or X1?
You can rent movies and manage a purchase PIN within the Sling TV app on Flex or X1.
How do I set up a Purchase PIN in the Sling TV app on Flex or X1?
You can set up a purchase pin with Sling by going to the Parental Controls area of the Sling Settings menu and selecting Lock Purchases. You’ll be prompted to enter the PIN whenever you buy content in the Sling app.
Note: If you’ve created a purchase PIN on your X1 TV Box or Flex streaming TV Box, that PIN won't work for the Sling app. You'll need to set up a separate PIN with the Sling app.
Will streaming Sling TV on X1 TV Boxes or Flex streaming TV Boxes count towards my monthly Internet data usage?
Yes. Sling programming is delivered over your Xfinity Internet service to your TV Box or streaming TV Box and is therefore subject to the rules, terms and conditions that govern Xfinity Internet service, including any data usage plans that may apply.
Can I watch Sling TV on the Xfinity Stream app?
No. Sling TV isn't available on the Xfinity Stream app.
Accessibility FAQs
What accessibility features are available Sling TV on Flex?Sling TV accessibility features include closed captioning on select channels and On Demand content. Videos that are viewed through the app will show accessibility features you have set up in your Sling account. Your accessibility user preferences on X1 and Flex won't apply once you launch the Sling app.
How do I turn closed captioning on?
Closed captioning (CC) may be turned on by navigating to the player controls bar which appears over video playback in the Sling app. Scroll right until you land on the CC icon. Simply select or deselect the CC icon to turn closed captioning on or off.
Parental controls and application locks FAQs
How do I set Parental Controls?
There are two ways you can set parental controls for the Sling app:
- Lock TV-MA content under Settings > Parental Controls > TV Rating Locks.
- Once locked, a Parental Control PIN is required before you can access the app.
- You can block access to the Sling app using an Application Lock.
Troubleshooting FAQs
Why can't I sign in?
If you’re unable to log in after entering your correct username and password, visit help.sling.com for instructions on how to recover your account.
Once your Sling account is recovered, you’ll be able to sign in.
Why doesn’t the Sling app launch on my Flex streaming TV Box or X1 TV Box?To use this app, you’ll need:
- A compatible X1 TV Box (RNG150s, XG1v1s, XG2v2s, XG1v3s, XiDs, Xi3s and Xi5s aren’t compatible) as part of your Xfinity X1 service or a compatible streaming TV Box with Xfinity Flex service (Xi5s aren’t compatible).
- If you have a Flex Xi5 streaming TV Box, you'll see a message on your TV that it's not compatible with Sling.
- You'll be prompted to order a compatible device straight from your TV, or you can contact us for help.
- If you have an incompatible X1 TV Box, you won’t see the app on your TV.
- You can contact us for help.
- If you have a Flex Xi5 streaming TV Box, you'll see a message on your TV that it's not compatible with Sling.
- Xfinity Internet service (any level).
Why is the Sling app frozen?
- If the Sling app is frozen on your screen, try exiting the app and relaunching it.
- If the Sling app is still frozen, try restarting your X1 TV Box or resetting your Flex streaming TV Box.
- Then, relaunch the app.
- If you continue to experience problems with the app, contact us.
Why am I having trouble navigating in the Sling app?
- If you’re having trouble with the Sling app on your TV Box/streaming device, try exiting the app and relaunching it.
- If you’re still having trouble, try restarting your X1 TV Box or resetting your Flex streaming TV Box.
- Then, relaunch the app.
- If you continue to experience problems with the app, contact us.
