Ready to try out Xfinity Mobile? No problem. Start by signing up for the Xfinity Mobile trial and checking to see if your phone is compatible.
If you’ve already signed up, follow the steps below to install your eSIM and get connected.
Installing your Xfinity Mobile trial eSIM on your iPhone
Follow the steps below to know what to expect during eSIM installation.
Note: During set up, you will select Primary for calls and messaging on your default line and the Xfinity Mobile trial plan to use free cellular data.
- Tap the Settings notification.
- This will begin the installation; it might take a few minutes.
- If you miss or dismiss the notification, go to Settings > Set up Cellular.
- Begin eSIM activation.
- Tap Continue to begin eSIM activation.
- Tap Continue to begin eSIM activation.
- Add the cellular plan.
- Tap Continue to add the trial cellular plan.
- Tap Continue to add the trial cellular plan.
- Label your cellular plans.
- Your Xfinity Mobile trial will be associated with the Secondary cellular plan, and you will need to label it to distinguish it from your Primary plan.
- Give it a label like “Xfinity Mobile Trial” or something similar.
- Select Primary for your default line.
- Tap to select Primary as your default line for calls and text.
- Tap to select Primary as your default line for calls and text.
- Select Primary for iMessage and FaceTime.
- Tap to select Primary to use as your default line for iMessage and FaceTime.
- Tap to select Primary to use as your default line for iMessage and FaceTime.
- Select the trial plan for cellular data.
- This step is very important, as it will allow you to use free data on the Xfinity Mobile network and see if it works for you.
- Toggle on Allow Cellular Data Switching for the best connectivity experience.
- You can now use your phone as normal.

What do I do if I don’t see a Settings notification after starting the trial?
If you don’t see the Set up Cellular notifications on your phone’s settings, you can install the eSIM with a QR code. Open the Camera app, scan the QR code below, and then follow the instructions above.
