Amazon Luna app on X1 TV Box and Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity overview

The Amazon Luna app is now available on Xfinity X1 and Xumo Stream Box!

The Amazon Luna app offers great value and access to games you can play with your phone or compatible controller. Prime members can play a curated selection of games on Luna that are included with their Prime membership, and Luna Premium subscribers can play an even larger library of games. (Some games require separate subscriptions.)

To use the Amazon Luna app, you’ll need:

  • A compatible X1 TV Box (Xi6 model), X1 XiOne, or Xumo Stream Box (XiOne).
  • An Amazon Prime account to play a selection of games for free.
    and/or
  • A subscription to Luna Premium ($9.99 per month plus taxes and fees) to access more games included with the Amazon Luna app.

Notes:

  • If you don’t have an Amazon Prime account, you can open the Luna app and browse games but not play.
  • If you have a standard Amazon account, you’ll need to buy Luna Premium to play games or upgrade to Amazon Prime to play a selection of free games.

Access the Amazon Luna app on X1 TV Box

The easiest way to access the Amazon Luna app is by saying “Gaming” into your Xfinity Voice Remote.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. From your X1 TV Box home page, click the Xfinity button on your X1 remote.

Access the Amazon Luna app on Xumo Stream Box

The easiest way to access the Amazon Luna app is by saying “Play Luna” into your Xfinity Voice Remote.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. From your Xumo Stream Box home page, scroll down to Gaming.
  2. From the Gaming menu, select Luna.

Sign in and start playing with Prime

To start playing games using the Amazon Luna app, you’ll need to sign in to your Prime account:

  1. After opening the Luna app, a screen will appear with options to pair a controller or continue to the app. Select Go to app. If you still need to pair your Bluetooth controller or smartphone, see How to pair your Bluetooth controller to the Amazon Luna app on Xumo Stream Box for instructions.

    • Note: You’ll only see this screen the first couple of times you launch the Luna app from your X1 TV Box.
  2. The Luna app will load.
  3. To sign in or create an Amazon account, scan the QR code using your mobile device or via the URL amazon.com/code, then enter the on-screen code. The page will automatically update once you’re connected.

  4. You can now begin using the Amazon Luna app to play your favorite games. With your Prime membership, you’ll be eligible to play a rotating selection of games each month with Luna Standard. For more access to games, you’ll need to subscribe to Luna Premium.

Subscribe to Luna Premium

For access to play an extensive library of games on Luna, you’ll need to subscribe to Luna Premium ($9.99 per month plus taxes and fees, if applicable. Some games may require a separate subscription.). You can sign up for a seven-day free trial of Luna Premium before paying the full monthly price.

When you select a game that requires a Luna Premium subscription, you’ll see a message at the top of your screen: Included in Luna Premium. Click this option and follow the on-screen prompts to start your seven-day free trial of Luna Premium.

Please note the free trial offer is only available if you’ve never had a Luna Premium subscription with your Amazon account previously. (See Amazon Luna Terms of Use.) You’ll be automatically billed for Luna Premium if you don’t cancel your free trial. Any charges for Luna Premium will be applied to your Amazon account, not your Xfinity account, so these charges won’t appear on your Xfinity bill.

Linking an Epic Games account for Fortnite Games

If you’d like to play Fortnite or other Fortnite games in the Amazon Luna app, and have an existing Epic Games account, you can link your Epic Games account to your Amazon account.

  1. From the Luna app home screen, select Fortnite.
  2. When prompted, select Link Epic Games Account.
  3. Scan the QR code using your mobile device or via the URL epicgames.com/activate, then enter the on-screen code. The page will automatically update once you’re connected.

  4. Sign in to your Epic Games account or create a new one.
  5. Once linked, you can now play Fortnite using the Amazon Luna app on X1 TV Box.

What is Amazon Luna?
Amazon Luna is a gaming service that lets you play games from the cloud using compatible devices you already own, including your TV. Just use your phone to play GameNight party games or pair compatible controllers with your X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box to play other great games.

What can Prime members play on Luna?
A new tier of Luna access, Luna Standard, is now available as part of Prime’s gaming benefit, providing access to a library of games to your preferred devices via the cloud. The full lineup currently available to members can be viewed on Prime.

How can I access free the games included with Prime?
If you’re a Prime member, sign in with your Amazon Amazon account for access to a rotating selection of must-play games and GameNight, a collection of 25+ party games. For more access to even more games, subscribe to Luna Premium.

Is my TV box/streaming box compatible?
You can check if your X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box is compatible with Amazon Luna by saying “Gaming” into your Voice Remote or typing “Luna” into your X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box search bar. If the Luna content does not appear, your box is not compatible.

I’m experiencing a lag when I use the Luna app. How can I improve connectivity on my X1 TV or Xumo Stream Box?
Try some of these suggestions to improve the connectivity:

  • Restart your gateway to refresh your connection.
  • Plug in an ethernet cord from your gateway to your X1 TV Box.
  • Move your X1 TV Box or Xumo Stream Box closer to the gateway and remove any obstructions to improve your WiFi signal strength.

How many devices can I pair to my X1 TV or Xumo Stream Box at once?
You can pair five devices at once — up to four Bluetooth controllers and one Bluetooth headset. However, when a Bluetooth headset is connected, you may only connect Bluetooth controllers that support Bluetooth Low Energy Mode (LEM). Here’s a full list of controllers that support Low Energy Mode:

  • Luna Controller
  • Xbox Wireless Controller (Series X|S)
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

What is cloud gaming?
With cloud gaming, you can play video games by streaming them to your own devices — no gaming console needed. It’s just like streaming movies and TV shows. Games live in the cloud, so you don’t have to download, install, or update them.

Does playing games on Luna count against my Xfinity Internet data usage?
Yes. Because content from these apps is delivered over your Xfinity Internet service, it's subject to the same rules, terms and conditions that affect Xfinity Internet service, including any data usage plans that may apply.
