Learn how to connect your Xfinity Home service to your internet service using the Xfinity Home WNR1000 Router and your internet gateway, modem or router.
What you'll need
- Xfinity Home Secure
- A Netgear WNR1000 Router
- Access to your internet provider's modem or router
- Touchscreen

Connecting your Xfinity Home router
- Verify that you have all the parts of the router:
- Netgear WNR1000 Router
- Ethernet cable
- Power cord
- Plug the Ethernet cable into the yellow port on the back of the WNR1000 router.
- Plug the other end of the Ethernet cable into the internet modem or router.
- Plug the power supply cord into the round socket all the way to the right on the back of the router.
- Plug the other end into a working power outlet that is not controlled by a light switch.
- It will take about five minutes for your router to power up and for your Xfinity Home system to come online.
- Test that your touchscreen is connected to the internet.
