How do I cancel my Xfinity Mobile service?

Xfinity won't be the same without you! If you really want to cancel your service, here's how.

If you want to stop your service and don’t plan to transfer your mobile number to another service provider, contact us.

If you have questions about cancelling your other Xfinity services, review how to cancel, pause, or move your Xfinity services.

Your Xfinity Mobile number can go with you

If you leave Xfinity Mobile and transfer your number to a new service provider (also known as porting), Xfinity will automatically cancel your Xfinity Mobile service for that line once the number transfer is complete.

Note: If you’re transferring your number, don’t cancel your Xfinity Mobile service before the transfer finishes. This stops the transfer and you’ll lose your number.

How do I transfer my phone from Xfinity Mobile to another service provider?

To use your phone with another service provider, you need to unlock it first. For steps on how to do so, review how to unlock your Xfinity Mobile phone.

Request an Xfinity Mobile security PIN

When you contact your new service provider to transfer your number, they'll ask for an Xfinity Mobile security PIN. You may also hear this referred to as a "transfer" or "port out" PIN.

Xfinity Mobile online

Here's how to get your security PIN online:

  1. Sign in to your Xfinity Mobile account online using the primary or manager's Xfinity ID.
  2. Go to the Devices tab.
  3. Select the device with the mobile number you want to transfer to a new service provider.
  4. Scroll down the page to Transfer your number, cancel this line.
  5. Select Learn More.

  6. Select Get Started.
  7. Send a one-time passcode (OTP) to that line.
  8. Enter the OTP. Then, select Confirm Code.
  9. Choose the number from the drop-down menu to get the security PIN through text.
  10. Tap Send My PIN to this number.

You can use the same security PIN to transfer any number on your Xfinity Mobile account. The PIN expires after seven days. If you don’t use it in time, you can follow the steps above to get a new one.

Xfinity app

  1. Use Primary or Manager’s Xfinity ID and password to sign in to the Xfinity app.
  2. Select the Services tab.
  3. Select Mobile Lines and Data Usage under Mobile.

  9. Choose the number from the drop-down menu to get the security PIN through text.
  10. Tap Send My PIN to this number.
  11. A text message will be sent with the security PIN.

*Once you receive your PIN, make sure any line that you’re transferring has number lock turned off.

You can use the same security PIN to transfer any number on your Xfinity Mobile account. The PIN expires after seven days. If you don’t use it in time, you can follow the steps above to get a new one.

Contact your new service provider

Once you tell your new service provider you're transferring a number from Xfinity Mobile, you don't have to call us to cancel that line. After your new service is active, Xfinity automatically cancels service for that line. Any additional lines on that account will continue unless you port out those lines. This includes tablets and smart watches.

After you've canceled service

If you cancel an Unlimited data line, data charges for that line will be split based on how much of your billing cycle has passed. Data charges for By the Gig plans aren’t split.

If you canceled your Xfinity Mobile service and still owe a balance on your device payment plan, you have two options:

  • Pay off the device in full. After paying it off, contact us to unlock the device. This is required if you want to use your device with a new service provider.
  • Keep making monthly device payments. You may continue payments if you still have Xfinity Internet, TV, or Voice service.
    • If you cancel all Xfinity services, the rest of the balance on your device will be due with your final Xfinity Mobile bill.

When you cancel all your Xfinity Mobile lines of service, you’ll no longer be able to access the My Account sections of xfinitymobile.com and the Xfinity Mobile Service card in the Xfinity app
