The best Halloween TV episodes to watch this season
PsychOkay, so this episode didn’t exactly air around Halloween time, but it is pretty creepy. Season one’s sixteenth episode, titled “Scary Sherry: Bianca’s Toast”, is all about a haunted sorority house and an undercover, psychic attempt to dispel a murder mystery. If that doesn’t scream “Halloween”, what does?
30 RockOn the second episode of the second season of 30 Rock, viewers were surprised by central character Tracy Jordan (portrayed by real-world actor Tracy Morgan) doling out a music video called, no joke, “Werewolf Bar Mitzvah”. With a hilariously shot video of Jordan dressed as the Wolf-man and lyrics such as, “boys becoming men, men becoming wolves”, this Halloween-ish episode is one for the books.
The OfficeIt’s truly a difficult task to choose just one Halloween episode of The Office, but season two, episode five (simply titled “Halloween”) takes the cake. Featuring one of Jim’s many lazy-but-brilliant Halloween costumes (this time, the infamous “three-hole punch”), this episode also features Michael’s infamous firing of a lesser-known Dunder Mifflin employee, which he handles in true Michael Scott fashion.
The SimpsonsAmong the many Halloween-themed “Treehouse of Horror” episodes The Simpsons has done over the years, a reigning fan-favorite is season six episode six, subtitled “Treehouse of Horror V”. Featuring a play on Homer as Jack from the Kubrick-King classic The Shining, this hilarious Halloween episode is sure to thrill any Simpsons fan.
Saturday Night LivePortrayed by the incredible Tom Hanks, “David S. Pumpkins” has become something of a pop-culture icon in recent years. First appearing in the fourth episode of Saturday Night Live’s 42nd season, David S. Pumpkins has had many more appearances since. From his “Haunted Elevator” sketch to his own animated special, this character is a modern Halloween classic on all accounts.
