Bringing Your Phone to Xfinity Mobile Is Easier Than Ever With eSIM

Mobile

Now with an eSIM-compatible device, you can bring your phone to Xfinity Mobile and easily switch from home. Let’s help you get started.

Step 1. What's eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM that eliminates the need for a physical SIM card. With eSIM, you can quickly and easily transfer a mobile phone to an existing or new mobile plan, all digitally. You can even store multiple eSIMs on the same device and use two phone numbers at the same time.

Step 2. Check your phone's compatibility

See if your phone can work on Xfinity Mobile, choose a data option, and easily activate your phone with an eSIM-compatible device. With eSIM, you’re all set up with this step.

Not compatible? No problem. We can send you a physical SIM card with free 2-day shipping, or you can pick one up at an Xfinity Store near you.

Still have questions? Read on for frequently asked questions about eSIM.

What is an eSIM-only device?

An eSIM-only device does not have a physical slot for a customer to insert a Sim card (pSIM). The Apple Watch is an example of an eSIM-only device. The Apple Watch IMEI can only be paired with a digital SIM (eSIM). If you purchased an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro model, your iPhone does not have a physical SIM tray, and will only activate with an eSIM.

Does Xfinity Mobile support eSIM devices?

Yes. Xfinity Mobile supports compatible eSIM-compatible devices, as well as devices that require a SIM card.

How do I activate my eSIM with Xfinity Mobile?

Bring your eSIM-compatible phone to Xfinity Mobile.

Once you have Xfinity Internet, start by choosing between our By the Gig or Unlimited data options. Once you check out, we’ll send you everything you need to know about getting your phone up and running on the fastest mobile service with 5G and millions of WiFi hotspots.

What is a dual SIM device?

A dual SIM device has two IMEIs that can support a Sim card (pSIM) or a digital SIM (eSIM). Most dual Sim devices support a pSIM on IMEI1 and an eSIM on IMEI2. iPhone 13 and the 3rd generation iPhone SE can support both pSIM on either IMEI.

A dual SIM device allows you to have two different cellular plans on your pSIM and eSIM, even from different carriers. When traveling abroad, you can get an eSIM without swapping out your Xfinity Mobile pSIM.

Does Xfinity sell dual SIM phones?

Yes. We sell a variety of phones from the most popular brands. Some of these phones can support both eSIM and a SIM card.

Which devices are eSIM-compatible?

iPhone 13 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone SE (3rd generation), and Samsung Galaxy S24 are eSIM-compatible devices with Xfinity Mobile. If you purchased an iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Pro model, your iPhone does not have a physical slot for a SIM card (pSIM), and will only activate with an eSIM.

How do I get an Xfinity Mobile eSIM if I am not purchasing my iPhone from Xfinity Mobile?

You can check if your phone is compatible with Xfinity Mobile here. If it is, you can easily activate your phone from home.

How do I know if my iPhone is unlocked?

1. Go to Settings > General and tap About. 2. Under Carrier Lock, you should see a message that says "No SIM restrictions." If you don't see that message, contact Xfinity Mobile.

Will activating an eSIM lock my iPhone to Xfinity Mobile?

Using an eSIM will not affect the lock status of your device. Many unlocked devices are compatible with Xfinity Mobile. You can check your device eligibility here.

Information about Xfinity Mobile's device unlocking policy can be found here.

What should I do if my iPhone is lost or stolen with an active eSIM?

If your iPhone with an active eSIM is lost or stolen, please follow these steps.

Can I still use my Xfinity Mobile eSIM if I travel internationally?

Yes. Take Xfinity Mobile on your next adventure abroad and stay connected with the new Global Travel Pass. Connect as soon as you arrive. And search, stream, and upload photos just like you would at home. Simply use the Xfinity app to add a Global Travel Pass before your next trip, and look forward to staying connected abroad.
