Comcast offers a variety of options to self-install your services. Each Self Installation Kit package comes with everything you need to quickly and easily set up your devices and activate your services. Each Self Installation Kit contains the following:

  • Environmentally-friendly materials
  • Simple instructions in a Quick Start Guide
  • Prepaid UPS shipping label along with a letter explaining all your options for returning Comcast equipment

Self Installation Lite Kit - XFINITY Stores and Comcast Service Centers

Effective May 20, 2015, new Self Installation Lite Kits will begin launching at XFINITY Stores and Comcast Service Centers. Self Installation Lite Kits contain a set of standardized components stored in streamlined, pre-made packaging, which will ensure that customers have everything they need to install their devices, every time. Note: Self Installation Lite Kits may not yet be available in all regions or XFINITY Stores/Comcast Service Centers. Available inventory of these kits in specific locations should be considered TBD.

X1 and non-X1 Self Installation Lite Kits will contain the same basic components:

  • Coaxial cable bundle
  • HDMI cable (HD kits only)
  • Coaxial splitter
  • Documentation folder

Do I need any tools to set up my XFINITY devices?
You do not need any tools to connect your devices. XFINITY Self Installation Kits come with the devices and connection wiring to set up your XFINITY services in just a few fast and easy steps!

How do I activate my services?
You can activate your XFINITY services through a click of the mouse or by a simple phone call! Once you have set up and connected all of your devices, you can activate online at www.xfinity.com/activate or call 1-855-OK-BEGIN.

When do I activate my services?
For most orders, activation can be done any time between the day the equipment arrives and up to seven days after the requested completion date on the order, to avoid failure of the order. You should receive your Requested Completion Date when you set up your order through a Comcast agent. For XFINITY Voice orders with a ported phone number, the XFINITY Voice service must be activated on the Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date (also received at the time you place your order). Failure of an XFINITY Voice order can result in loss of dial tone and/or the phone number.
