Install a Battery in Your XFINITY Voice Modem or Wireless Gateway

If you have recently purchased an XFINITY Voice backup battery, follow these simple step-by-step instructions to install a new battery into your modem or wireless gateway.

Install a Battery in Your Wireless Gateway

  1. Place the wireless gateway on its side.
  2. Remove the battery compartment door on the bottom panel.
  3. Insert the backup battery into the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment.
Note: If you have an advanced gateway, please follow the installation instructions below for the Arris TG3482G.
