Notification

We will send you courtesy in-browser notifications and emails letting you know when you reach 40%, 60%, 80%, 100%, 120% and 140% of the 5 GB included in the Flexible Data Option. When you have used all 5 GB, we will also call to inform you that you have reached 100% of the 5 GB of data included in your monthly Flexible Data Option.

If you install the XFINITY My Account app on your mobile device, you will also see usage notifications as you log in to the app. See How Can I Get the XFINITY My Account App to download the app.

If you exceed multiple notification settings in one hour, you will only receive one notification for the highest amount used (e.g., if you exceed 50% and 60% of your plan in one hour, you will receive only the 60% notification). However, the notification upon reaching 100% of your data usage plan will be sent.

Notification Management

You may not opt out of email and in-browser notifications if you are participating in the Flexible Data Option.

You can elect to receive mobile text notifications when you approach or exceed your usage plan. Text notifications are optional and will only be sent between 9:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time.

In Users & Preferences, select Text next to Data Usage Threshold.

You will receive the following email once you have enrolled to receive text messages:
"Dear Comcast Customer,

The My Account preferences for [name] have been changed.

[Name] is currently enrolled in the following email and SMS Comcast Alerts:

Email Alerts: Data Usage Threshold
SMS Alerts: Data Usage Threshold

If this change was not authorized by you or an authorized user on your account, or you believe you received this message in error, please call Comcast Customer Service at 1-800-266-2278.

Thank You,
Comcast"

You may opt out of text notifications by visiting the Users & Preferences tab of My Account.
