Turn Safe Browse On or Off with X1 Parental Controls

Safe Browse allows you to set Parental Controls which prevent adult titles, poster art and programming from appearing on screen, whether in program listings or in XFINITY On Demand menus. When a title is hidden, "Parental Controlled Program" is listed in its place.

This article provides details on how to set up and manage Safe Browse with XFINITY X1. In order to turn the Safe Browse feature on or off, you must first set up a Locks PIN. For details on setting up a Locks PIN, see X1: Parental Controls - Set up Locks PIN and Turn Parental Controls On/Off.

Turn Safe Browse On or Off

  1. Press the xfinity button on your remote control.
  2. Using the right arrow button, scroll over to highlight Settings. Press the OK button.

  3. Use the down arrow button to highlight Parental Controls. Press OK.

  4. If you have already set up a Parental Controls PIN, you will be prompted to enter your four-digit Locks PIN. Use the number buttons on the remote control to enter your Locks PIN.

  5. Use the down arrow to highlight Safe Browse. Press the OK button to toggle Safe Browse on or off.

  6. When Safe Browse is set to on, use the down arrow to highlight the safety level you wish to enable (Medium or High). Press OK.
    Safe Browse options: Safe Browse Off, Medium Safety, or High Safety.
  7. Press Exit to return to standard TV viewing. Or, press Last to return to the Settings menu.
