Setting up an XR2 or XR5 Remote to work with a legacy TV Box

Let's set up an XR2 or XR5 Remote to pair with legacy TV Boxes.

Reprogramming the remote

To change the XR2 or XR5 Remote to infrared (IR) mode (the legacy/non-RF mode):
  1. Press and hold the Setup button until the light changes to green.
  2. Press A, B or C, depending on which TV Box you have:

    B     X  
    C       X
  3. The remote is now programmed!
  4. To test it, aim the remote at the TV Box and press any button.

Pair to a TV Box

To pair the XR2 or XR5 Remote with a legacy TV Box:
  1. While the TV is on, press and hold the Setup button on the remote for three seconds until the All Power button changes from red to green.
  2. Enter the first five-digit code listed for the TV manufacturer.
    • Note: The All Power button should blink twice.
  3. Aim the remote at the TV, and press the Power button.
    • If the TV turns off, turn the TV back on and verify that the volume and mute buttons work.
    • If the TV did not turn off, repeat the procedure with the next TV manufacturer device code.
    • Note: If none of the device codes operate the TV, refer to the online Remote Code Lookup tool.
