Access and troubleshoot DreamWorks Storybooks on Xfinity X1

You can experience interactive DreamWorks Storybooks on Xfinity X1.

These interactive storybooks follow the plot lines of two DreamWorks classics:

  • Kung Fu Panda
  • Trolls

DreamWorks Storybooks:

  • Are supported on all X1-compatible devices.
  • Do not require Xfinity Internet.
  • Are only available with English audio at this time.
  • Do not work on TVs set to a 4:3 aspect ratio.

How does it work

Access DreamWorks Storybooks from your X1 TV Box

To access DreamWorks Storybooks from your X1 menu:

  1. Search for “DreamWorks Storybooks.”
    • Highlight the title you want to watch.
    • Press OK on your remote. 
    • You can also say “DreamWorks Storybooks” using your Xfinity Voice Remote.

  2. From the desired storybook page, select Play or Rent.
    • Some storybook titles are free to view.
    • Others are only available for rental.
      • Rentals are available for 30 days.
        Play, Free to Me button on bottom left.
  3. Depending on your remote, use the OK or middle button to turn the page and move forward in the story.
    • Storybooks always start from the beginning.

  4. When a wand appears on-screen, use the OK or middle button on your remote to play special bonus content and move forward in the story.
    • You can also press Exit on your remote to dismiss the wand.

  5. Press Exit on your remote at any time to leave the story.

Troubleshooting

In-home network latency can affect the Storybooks experience.

Error messages

You may receive one of the following error messages:

"Sorry this program can’t be played. You need a screen that has HD resolution (16:9) to watch it."

  • You’ll see this error if your TV is only capable of 4:3 resolution.
  • If you have multiple TVs in the household, try viewing the program on another TV.

"First, change your TV settings. To watch this program, you’ll need to adjust your screen to HD (16:9) resolution."

  1. Select the Go to Settings button in the on-screen message.
  2. This will take you to the Video Display settings.
  3. Update the setting to 16:9 resolution.
  4. Once you do, you should be able to play the program without issue.
