Can't Connect to the Home WiFi Network

Troubleshooting: Problems Connecting a Single Device to Home WiFi

Follow these steps to determine whether the issue is with your login credentials, the device or your network. The links will provide additional tips.

Login Credentials
  • Make certain you are using the proper WiFi network name and password. Learn about WiFi passwords.

Device Issues
  • Follow the basic steps for connecting to a WiFi network.
  • If you've successfully connected this device to this network previously but now cannot, make certain:
    • The device has not been blocked or paused in xFi. Learn all about xFi.
    • The network password has not changed.
  • The issue may be with your device. Try restarting it. This common Internet troubleshooting strategy can often resolve issues.
  • Try troubleshooting the device from xFi.
Network Issues
  • If you still cannot connect or have slow Internet connection, you may be experiencing a network issue (instead of an individual device issue). Test this by attempting to connect other devices. If they fail to connect, you can quickly troubleshoot your network.
