Xfinity Mobile will no longer support iPhone 6 and 6+ devices and some iPhones or Apple Watches with an outdated iOS as of March 31, 2025. On that date these devices may lose functionality, including not being able to send/receive calls or use mobile data.
Xfinity Mobile customers who have an iPhone 6 device will need to replace it. Customers who have an iPhone with an outdated iOS will need to update their iOS to iOS 14 or newer. Customers with an Apple Watch will need to update their watch to watchOS 8. Some phones and watches with an outdated iOS will not be able to update their device due to storage limitations. If customers need to replace their phone or watch, they can purchase a new phone or watch, or bring a compatible phone or watch to their existing line (BYONDEL).
Customers who don’t replace their phone or update their iOS by March 31, 2025, will no longer have access to cellular data.
FAQs
Why is my device no longer compatible?
Our network partner is making a change that make iPhone 6 devices, iPhone 6s and above devices with older operating systems, and watches with older operating systems incompatible with Xfinity Mobile.
When will my device stop working?
To avoid suspension and a loss of service, it's important you purchase a new device (for iPhone 6 and 6+ devices) or upgrade your iOS (for iPhone 6s and above, and Apple Watch users) by March 31, 2025. If no action is taken you will no longer have access to cellular data.
I have an impacted device. What options are available to me?
iPhone 6 or 6+ users will need to replace their device. iPhone and Apple Watch users with outdated iOS will need to replace their device or update their iOS to iOS 14 or newer for the iPhones and watchOS 8 for their Apple Watch. If replacing your device, you can purchase a new phone from Xfinity Mobile or bring your own compatible phone to Xfinity Mobile. You can also disconnect your impacted line(s) of service.
How do I check what iOS I’m currently using?
On your iPhone go to Settings > General > About. The iOS version will be listed on the screen. For your Apple Watch, select the Settings app (gear icon), then go to General > About and the watchOS will be listed.
