Using the Xfinity App

This article provides an overview of how to use the Xfinity app (Apple App Store or Google Play).

Xfinity app features are different depending on the type of service and the devices you have.

xFi Customers with an Eligible xFi Gateway

Overview
Overview is the main page and default screen of the Xfinity app. Here, you can view the status of your network and WiFi name. You can also access account reminders and network notifications, as well as restart your Gateway.

From the Overview page, you can also easily access the Xfinity Assistant by clicking on the speech bubble icon in the top-right corner of the screen. The Xfinity Assistant helps you troubleshoot your services, providing personalized, guided help and solutions for repair, billing and account issues.

Connect
From here, you can organize the devices connected to your home WiFi network, give them nicknames and choose icons for easier identification.

You can also view and manage your WiFi name and password, security settings and the connection status for your network devices, including your Gateway and your xFi Pods, if applicable.

The Connect section also allows you to run a speed test from your connected device and access the advanced settings to update your Gateway's technical configurations, like port forwarding. Learn more about advanced settings in xFi.

People
In this section, you can create user profiles for the people in your home to easily control and keep track of everyone's devices. Establish profiles to get to settings like Active Time Limits, Downtime and Parental Controls.

Home
Home is the hub for all home control devices, like smart lights and thermostats.  The Home section lets you easily control connected home devices and add new ones.

Account
The Account section can be accessed by tapping the person icon located in the top left corner of the app. Here, you can tap on Billing Details to be redirected to the Xfinity Assistant, which will automatically display your current billing details, including a breakdown of your current charges and fees. You can also access your Xfinity Internet plan details, like your Xfinity Internet speed and device information. You can even restart your modem by tapping Plan Details.

Notifications
The Notification Center provides a list of recent notifications about your home network, including when your WiFi password has been changed or when a new device has connected to your network. Learn more about xFi notifications.

Notification Preferences provides your contact information including your primary email address and phone number. Here, you can change your email, text and push notification settings.

Devices
In the Devices section, you can Add Smart Home Devices like eligible thermostats and light switches that you can control in the Xfinity app on the Home panel. Devices also gives you the ability to Activate xFi Gateway or Modems or Activate xFi Pods.

Privacy and Security
In this section, you can visit the Privacy Center, view our Privacy Policy and get more information on how Comcast protects your personal information by tapping Do Not Sell My Info. Tapping xFi Advanced Security will also allow you to enable/disable your xFi Advanced Security.

Under More Resources, you can submit feedback on your experience using the Xfinity app by selecting Submit App Feedback, or you can choose to Explore Help & Support Forums for additional information and tips on troubleshooting. Overview
