About drop amplifiers

A drop amplifier, also called an amp or booster, increases signal strength at your home. It is usually found near the ground block or where the cable connects to the home for the best signal. It needs power, provided through a standard coaxial cable. When powered, the device shows a green light.

If the green light on your drop amplifier is off:

  • Make sure the amplifier is plugged into a working electrical outlet.
  • Make sure the outlet is not controlled by a light switch.
  • Unplug the amplifier from the power source.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and check if the green light turns on.

If the green light remains off after these steps, the amplifier might be faulty and may need to be replaced.
