Why should I allow this app request?
The app is an analytics service that helps Xfinity Mobile identify and address network issues. By selecting Allow, you’ll provide data that helps Xfinity Mobile make its network experience more reliable. It’s entirely voluntary, and won't affect your mobile service in any way. All diagnostic data is securely pseudonymized, aggregated, and used in accordance with Xfinity’s privacy policy and mobile user agreement.
What permissions does the app request, and why does it need them?
The app needs access to your usage statistics, device activity and location. These permissions allow Xfinity Mobile to collect network analytics which help to improve network availability, service, and overall performance.

By understanding network quality and usage across the network, Xfinity Mobile can better address network-related issues on its WiFi, cellular, and partner cellular networks.
Will my personal information be shared?
All data is aggregated and anonymized, and data is used in accordance with the Xfinity Mobile privacy policy. Your personal or account details are never shared through this app.
How do I opt out during setup?
To opt out during setup, select the Don’t Allow option at the bottom of the end user license agreement screen.
How do I opt out later?
You can opt out of location and usage analytics at any time after the initial setup through device settings. Disabling the allowed permissions will disable collection of location, device activity and usage analytics. Please see the instructions below.
To disable location analytics:
- Navigate to Settings and tap Apps. Tap the icon with an arrow and three lines at the top of the apps list. In the window that appears, toggle on Show system apps and select OK.
- Then, scroll through the apps list and select XCS or use the search bar and search for XCS.
- On the App info page, select Permissions to open the app permissions page.
- Select Location, and then Don't allow.
- Select Physical activity, and then Don't allow.
To disable data usage tracking:
- Navigate to Apps, then click on the three vertical dots in the upper right section of the screen, and then select Special Access.
- In the Special Access menu, select Usage data access. Then, scroll to the Xfinity Carrier Services app and toggle the data usage permission off.
