Advertising Preferences for Cable Video Services

Comcast may use "Activity Data" generated by your video viewing to provide advertising that is relevant to your interests. We may also use "Ad Groups" data from other sources to determine which of our advertisers' messages may be of greatest interest to specific groups of our cable television subscribers. Comcast will not give your name or other identifying information to an advertiser without your express consent.

You can opt out of receiving Advanced Advertising for Cable Video Services in My Account at any time.

How to Opt Out of Receiving More Relevant Advertising

  1. Sign in to My Account.
  2. Click the Settings tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click TV on the left side of the page.

  4. Under TV Settings, click on the Manage advertising preferences button. A new tab will open.
  5. In the new tab, under your profile information, click Manage advertising preferences. A pop-up window will appear.

  6. Read the terms and select OPT OUT for Advanced Advertising Settings. Click Save.

  7. A confirmation message will appear.

What is "Activity Data"? What data do you collect and use to deliver more relevant advertising?
"Activity Data" is information about how you use Comcast's cable television services, and how you view the video we deliver to you on all platforms where it is available. You can learn more about the information we collect and how we use it by reading the Comcast Customer Privacy Notice.

Why is this opt-out only for advertising on cable video services? What if I want to opt out of more relevant advertising online?
Advertising delivered through Comcast's cable video-based video services is managed separately from online advertising. To opt out of receiving more relevant online advertising on Comcast's websites, go to http://my.xfinity.com/adinformation. This page also includes a link that allows you to opt out of other companies' behavioral advertising.

If I previously opted out of "Segmented Advertising", do I have to opt out again from the new page?
No, if you have already opted out of (what was formerly known as) "Segmented Advertising" you do not need to opt out again. Your preferences will be maintained on the new page.

If I have already opted out, can I change my mind?
Yes, you can tell us at any time that you would like to receive advertising based on "Activity Data" and "Ad Groups" by going to http://www.xfinity.com/adservices or calling 1-800-229-7150.

I opted out (or opted back in) to receive more relevant advertising, but I am not sure you changed anything. When will you respond to my choices?
It may take up to 30 days for your selection to take effect.

Can I still opt out or opt back in by phone?
Yes, you update your preferences by calling 1-800-229-7150.

If I don't opt out, will you share my personal information with advertisers?
No, Comcast does not share personal information about individual customers with advertisers without their express consent. We do report data on how groups of customers use our products and services, including information about ad delivery and ad viewing.

If I opt out, will I still see advertising?
Your Advanced Advertising Preferences will not affect the number of ads you see. You will still see advertising even if you opt out.
