Ohio vs. Michigan
On Friday, it’s all about Ohio and Michigan. The Central Michigan Chippewas, the pride of Mount Pleasant, travel to Toledo to take on the Rockets who have been pounding the rock in the 419 since 30 years before area codes were even invented (hint: that was in 1947). Meanwhile, the Eastern Michigan Eagles trek from Ypsilanti to Kent, Ohio, to take on the Kent State Golden Flashes in Dix Stadium in a Mid-American Conference Showdown.
Virginia Cavaliers vs. Virginia Tech Hokies
3:00 p.m. ET
The in-state competition between Virginia and Virginia Tech is rivalry that dates back to their first meeting in 1895. Virginia Tech has won the game 57 times compared to the ‘Hoos 37 victories, while there have been five ties. The teams have played every year since 1970, and they’ve played for the Commonwealth Cup since 1996. The Hokies have won 14 games straight, including a 10-0 victory last year in Charlottesville.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. West Virginia Mountaineers
8:00 p.m. ET
The prime-time game features two ranked powerhouses as Oklahoma travels to West Virginia for a showdown in Morgantown. Lincoln Riley, the 35-year-old head coach of the Sooners, was hand-picked by former coach Bob Stoops to take over the Crimson and Cream program in 2017. He’s proven to be the right choice, building an offensive powerhouse that made quarterback Baker Mayfield the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Meanwhile, Dana Holgorsen, who has been the Mountaineers head coach since 2011, is looking to add another quality win to the season after beating an impressive Texas Longhorns team in a 42-41 nail-biter in early November.
