spider-verse

If you’re anything like us (and you probably are), then you most likely have a favorite live-action Spider-Man persona, portrayed by one of these three actors: Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, or Tom Holland. On the other hand, maybe you’re a fan of the many animated series that have been centered around the iconic hero over the years, preferring source material accuracy and hand-drawn art over live-action cinema takes.

No matter which Spider-Man best suits your fancy, you’re going to like what Xfinity X1 has available to watch anywhere, anytime. Featuring titles such as Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and many of the multiple animated Spider-Man series, X1 has plenty of tear-jerking Uncle Ben scenes to go around. Spider-Man titles, both old and new

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

A bold new take on the Spider-Man mythos, this critically acclaimed and award winning film follows the adventures of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and a band of alternate-universe Spider characters as they fight to stop a threat against all realities. See why the movie won the award for Best Animated Feature at this year's Academy Awards.

Spider-Man (2002)

Starring Toby Maguire as Peter Parker (AKA, the zero-to-hero “Spider-Man”), this 2002 film became an instant classic. With co-stars Kirsten Dunst and James Franco, this take on the iconic Marvel superhero’s rise (as well as the rise of his enemy, the dreaded Green Goblin) has long been hailed as the Spider-Man film that defined a generation. One of the first in a series of live-action superhero films that would storm the early 2000’s, Spider-Man is certainly among the best. If you haven’t seen it, it’s one you don’t want to miss.

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

Years after the release of the Maguire-led Spider-Man franchise (which included a total of three films overall), a new take on the hero came to light. This 2012 film, titled The Amazing Spider-Man like the original Marvel comics, flaunted a fresh, young Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) and won fans over in an instant with a modern take on his romance Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) fit for the new millennium.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

In an attempt to reclaim their beloved hero from other production companies, Marvel’s Cinematic Universe created yet another new Spider-Man franchise in 2017, beginning with Spider-Man: Homecoming. Foregoing the hero’s origin story, this title jumps right in to a (very) young Peter Parker’s daily life as the hero, under his mentor and personal hero, Tony Stark (AKA, the illustrious Iron Man). Starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, this take on the young hero ties Spidey’s story into the rest of the MCU films, such as Avengers: Infinity War.

Spider-Man (1994)

Also known as Spider-Man: The Animated Series, this Fox Kids gem began airing in 1994. Featuring the voice-acting talents of Christopher Daniel Barnes as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, this series is well-known (and dearly beloved) by nineties kids across the nation. Taking quite a few storylines from the comics and adapting them, this series stole the hearts of millions of pre-teens and tweens in its time, and is still worth watching today.
