If you’re unfamiliar with Sofar Sounds and their signature intimate, pop-up concerts, we can break it down like this: Sofar Sounds curates surprise shows at secret locations, only revealing the lineup and location moments before the show starts to those who have applied for tickets, and won.
The concept has tantalized music fans across the globe since 2009, creating a unique and spontaneous music experience unlike anything else out there for people of all ages to enjoy. Sofar uses venues of all kinds – from living rooms to retail stores – for their “secret” show locations, creating a kind of scavenger-hunt (or, for the grown-ups, a “speakeasy”) vibe from the get-go.
Not only is the location of a show not disclosed until the day before, the artist lineup for each show is a complete surprise as well. Until concertgoers walk through the doors of the secret venue and take a seat, they have no idea who will show up to play one of these exciting, surprise sets (which is pretty cool, if you ask us).
