For most students, 500 Mbps is enough for everyday streaming, video calls, gaming, and studying. A 500 Mbps connection can handle multiple devices online simultaneously with speed to spare.

If you share a house with 4 – 6 roommates and want minimal buffering during peak evening hours, the 1 Gig plan may be right for you. 1 Gig is excellent for multi-player gaming, videoconferences, and HD streaming on even more devices.

Yes. Xfinity's fiber-powered network is highly reliable. With our 99% reliability rate, you can be confident in your connection whether you’re in online class, streaming your favorite show, or gaming. Unlike 5G home internet, Xfinity's wired connection doesn't suffer from wireless interference or signal variability, giving you a more consistent experience. Plus, Xfinity delivers latency in the 10 – 20ms range, which is well within the threshold for competitive online gaming.

Xfinity Internet is powered by fiber and connected to premises by coaxial cable.

Xfinity is available in virtually every major college city and university town across the U.S. and offers student discounts, same-day setup, and flexibility (we don’t lock you into an annual contract).

Yes. You can transfer your Xfinity service to a new address wherever Xfinity service is available and keep your student pricing. Check availability at your new address at xfinity.com before signing your next lease. If you choose a 1-year student plan term, your price will move to standard, undiscounted pricing after a year.

If you want multi-year price stability, consider the 5-Year Price Guarantee option, which locks in your student pricing for five full years.
